Pantone has announced Mocha Mousse 17-1230 as the color of the year 2025, a sophisticated and welcoming shade of brown that is inspired by nature and the pursuit of well-being in living spaces. Described by the Pantone Color Institute as “a celebration of substance and harmony,” this color combines the warmth of earth tones with modern versatility, making it ideal for furniture and home accessories.
Pantone has used us to selecting strong hues that have hardly been reconciled with typical harmonizations in interior design. This time, however, Mocha Mousse has potential to break through into the world of furniture.
Earth tones, on the other hand, are dominant in the Borghi d’Italia 2025 study, and Mocha Mousse is very similar to Furore, a color identified by Renner Italia.
In interior design, Mocha Mousse will stand out for its ability to create elegant yet intimate spaces. Used as a neutral base, it pairs perfectly with natural materials such as light wood, leather and soft fabrics. Combined with light shades such as cream and beige or with bold accents such as amber and forest green, it offers endless creative possibilities. It is perfect for lacquered furniture, matte finishes or decorative details that transform any space into a cozy and harmonious place.
This shade finds application in different palettes suggested by Pantone: from the subtle contrasts of “Relaxed Elegance” to the bold plays of “Floral pathways.” Mocha Mousse can take center stage on furniture or wall surfaces, or act as an accent shade to gently enrich spaces.
