Color selection
of beauty

Borghi d’Italia is the annual selection
of color trends identified by Renner Italia
for the world of interior design

Color is subject to constant change, driven by cultural, stylistic and sensory developments. Through our analysis and interpretation of these signals with Borghi d’Italia, we transform them into proposals that guide contemporary furnishing choices in dialogue with windows, doors, and outdoor spaces. The collection consists of 12 exclusive Renner Italia shades, which are available in lacquered, stained, and metallic versions. Our goal is to provide architects and designers with a reliable, sophisticated, and continually updated color tool.

That's Italy, baby

Italy’s towns and villages preserve a unique chromatic heritage: centuries-old stones, wood weathered by time, oxidized metals, natural earth tones, and Mediterranean light. The Borghi d’Italia 2026 project was created to transform this aesthetic memory into a contemporary language, translating the soul of small Italian towns into a color chart of lacquered, metallic, and stained coatings designed to match architecture, interior design, and outdoor spaces.

The year ahead

In 2026, trends
will consider interiors and exteriors
as continuous spaces
and will develop around
three principles of color research

Earth and mineral tones

Deep browns, neutral earth tones, warm beiges: a stable base evoking stone, tuff, terracotta, and oxidized wood.

Italian light

Amber and veiled yellow shades that reinterpret the brightness of coastal towns, historic facades, and Mediterranean days.

Warm and welcoming accents

Historic reds and oranges, typical of artisan traditions, perfect for punctuating a space with measured energy.

The perfect match

The color chart developed by Renner Italia’s color designers for 2026 was created to ensure perfect harmony between all its shades. Each color is designed to interact with the others, allowing for endless and always consistent combinations. Borghi d’Italia is the ideal tool for defining decorative and design choices with a strong personality, offering unique color depth and an inimitable touch of Italian style.

Be inspired

Borghi d’Italia 2026 interprets the colors of Italian tradition in a contemporary key. Explore the environments and discover how palettes and finishes interact with materials, furnishings, and natural light.

Neutral layers
+ soft light

Perfect for contemporary interiors that evoke the calm of historic residences. They work well with textured surfaces, natural stone, and light woods.

Deep tones
+ warm accents

Ideal for outdoors and joineries: they interact with the landscape, maintain a strong link with ancient plasterwork, and enhance architectural contrasts.

Metallic
+ stained

A refined combination for contract projects, boutique hotels, and retails in historic centers. Metallic finishes amplify light, while etched finishes add tactility.

Why
Borghi d'Italia
project

Just a stone’s throw from Italy’s great cities of art, the country’s villages offer a tranquillity, harmony and charm that enchant visitors. Inspired by these intimate and extraordinary Italian wonders, Renner dedicates its exclusive annual colour selection to them as part of the Aesthetics Design Talks platform.

How
we realize
color
studies

Renner Italia's color studies, which offer combinations and inspiration for interior design, are the result of a wealth of expertise built up in the field.

It comes from:
  • direct, daily contact with major international furniture brands, which fuels the development of innovative products and the analysis of the most popular finishes
  • constant scouting for materials, including beyond wood, and in-depth study of production processes, which form the basis for the creation of our mood boards.
  • the presence of the Renner Italia team at major international design events, to identify trends, emerging signals, and new stimuli; the cross-pollination with different expressions of beauty, from art to architecture, which enriches our design vision
The colors shown on this page are indicative and may vary depending on the substrate and application method.
