Last 1<sup>st<\/sup> of April 1700 people visited the vernissage. This number is going to increase during the design week, starting today. Inside <a href=\"http:\/\/www.renneritalia.com\/arte-dall1-aprile-le-vernici-renner-futurdome-milano-the-uncanny-valley\/\">The Uncanny Valley<\/a> there is the artistic contemporaneity of an entire community. The German-speaking community, that works in South Tyrol.<\/p>\n<p>Among the exhibitors there is also Stefan Alber with <em>Aeropalco<\/em>. The artist reproduced on a 1:3 scale the roof of the service station of <a href=\"https:\/\/ricerca.repubblica.it\/repubblica\/archivio\/repubblica\/2017\/07\/17\/il-sogno-dellingegnere-che-disegno-le-ali-alla-bellezza-di-asmara21.html\">Fiat Tagliero in Asmara<\/a>, the capital city of Eritrea. This service station was projected in 1938 by the engineer <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Giuseppe_Pettazzi\">Giuseppe Pettazzi<\/a> in futurist style.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30046\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30046\" style=\"width: 960px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30046\" src=\"http:\/\/www.renneritalia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/fiat_tagliero_asmara-1024x628.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"589\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30046\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The service station Fiat Tagliero in Asmara (Eritrea) in a Wikipedia picture<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This was not a simple petrol station, but a building, that should recall the figure of an airplane, with a central tower, on whose sides were hung 15-metres long wings. According to the Italian laws of those times, the concrete wings should have been supported by the structure. The day of the inauguration the workers refused to remove the supports used in the building site, fearing the collapse of the \u201ccolonial spaceship\u201d, as it was named later. Pettazzi convinced the constructor and the workers to remove the supports. To convince them, he threatened them with a gun. If considered from a historical point of view, Pettazzi\u2019s project and act do not surprise us. The avant-gardist architects were sent to Asmare to project buildings outside the box. An irreverent way to export the Italian idea of modern city.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30048\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30048\" style=\"width: 683px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-30048\" src=\"http:\/\/www.renneritalia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/alberstefan_03-683x1024.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30048\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Stefan Alber&#8217;s Aeropalco at FuturDome<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h3>Renner Italia coatings for a brave work<\/h3>\n<p>Pettazzi\u2019s architecture keeps on being discussed after 80 years. Stefan Alber\u2019s <em>Aeropalco<\/em> explains in critical way that imposition and raise the discussion up again on that aspect of the fascist architecture. A work, that let the people reflect. Abbiamo chiesto alla curatrice, Ginevra Bria, quali riscontri stia avendo la mostra. \u00ab<em>Abbiamo portato oltre 25 artisti in 1.100 metri quadrati e abbiamo ospitato 1.700 persone solamente nelle prime due ore e mezza di inaugurazione, luned\u00ec 1 aprile<\/em>\u00a0&#8211; ha\u00a0commentato con soddisfazione\u00a0Bria -.\u00a0<em>Durante la settimana di<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.miart.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">miart\u00a0<\/a><em>abbiamo avuto in visita direttori di musei italiani e curatori internazionali, cos\u00ec come galleristi, artisti e studenti di numerose accademie. Siamo stati segnalati tra gli eventi da non perdere non solo da riviste di settore, ma anche da quotidiani come La Repubblica<\/em>\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Move back to <em>The Uncanny Valley<\/em>. We asked Ginevra Bria, the curator, about the feedback of the exhibition. <em>\u00abWe brought over 25 artists in 1.100 square metres and hosted 1.700 people only in the first 2 hours and half of the inauguration, on Monday 1<sup>st<\/sup> April <\/em>&#8211; Bria commented with satisfaction -. <em>During the week of <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.miart.it\/\">miart<\/a> <em>directors of Italian museums and international curators, such as gallery managers, artists and students of many academies visited us. We were recommended as an event, not to be missed, not only by magazines of the field, but also by newspapers such as La Repubblica<\/em>\u00bb.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30050\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30050\" style=\"width: 960px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-30050\" src=\"http:\/\/www.renneritalia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/kuhnlinda_02.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"641\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30050\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Also Linda Kuhn among the exhibitors of the show<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>It is really a good viaticum. How does this event talk with the design week?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00abDuring the design week we will present the exhibition catalogue, including pictures of the works installed in FuturDome. With us? All the companies, that supported the event and produced site specific works of some artists. At a media level <\/em><em><a href=\"http:\/\/fuorisalone.it\/2019\/\">Fuorisalone.it<\/a><\/em><em>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/em><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.portaveneziaindesign.com\/\">Porta Venezia District<\/a><\/em><em> recommended us; furthermore, in a geographic point of view, we are situated just a hundred metres away from Studio Pepe, Spazio Maiocchi and Alcova, the real research centres concerning new design frontiers. This year we are exhibiting only artists. Even if during the evening of the 11<sup>th<\/sup> of Aprile <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loom-est.com\/\">Loom-est<\/a>, a fashion magazine residing in FuturDome, will present a selection of 11 emerging fashion designers<\/em>\u00bb.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30051\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30051\" style=\"width: 960px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-30051\" src=\"http:\/\/www.renneritalia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/hellsilvia_05.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"641\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30051\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A work by Silvia Hell. The artists exposed are 25.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>The Uncanny Valley enhances the concepts of exclusion and relocation. Is the contemporary art destined to be marginal, if expressed in suburbs? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00ab<em>Through the eyes and the works of international artists, that lived in South Tyrol, The Uncanny Valley enhances once again how the South Tyrol German-speaking community is not a residual of a language and culture, mainly not written, besieged and constricted, but it belongs to a strong and wide-spread linguistic and cultural community, and also near, so that everyone can participate to its vital circuit. Furthermore, it\u2019s about a ethno-linguistic and sociologic group (in that sense, also the Ladins are included), that is numerous enough to grant itself a complete and independent life, with sufficient cultural and material resources to ensure vitality and continuity<\/em>\u00bb.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30052\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30052\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-30052\" src=\"http:\/\/www.renneritalia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/mrova_02-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30052\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A work by\u00a0Mrova<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Some of the works, in particular Stefan Alber\u2019s <em>Aeropalco<\/em>, are covered by Renner coatings. Which role does the wood in the contemporary art cover?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab<em>The wood is the protagonist in many exhibitions. But there are few artists, such as Stefan, that can work it directly without the help of artisans or specialized workers. An example? The show in Fondazione Prada, that has just inaugurated by Fitch and Trecartine, or the exhibition at Converso by Kaprow.
