The tower is almost 1000 years old and, even if <\/span><a href=\"it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Torri_di_Bologna\" style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">it is not the highest<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">, it offers one of the most fascinating panoramas of the city. It was built in the XII century by <\/span><a href=\"it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Torre_dei_Prendiparte\" style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">Prendiparte family<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.6em\">, at the time one of the most ancient and rich, it is 60 mt high and it had walkways and galleries also outside.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.renneritalia.com\/assets\/uploads\/2015\/06\/medium_prendiparte-tower.jpg\" style=\"width: 400px;height: 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Between &lsquo;400 and &lsquo;700, the tower was sold to the archiepiscopal refectory; it was used as seminary and, during the &lsquo;700, as a prison for crimes against religion. Nowadays, the twelve floors of the construction are completely practicable and refurbished and it is possible to climb to the panoramic terrace to enjoy the city panorama.
